peachie picks

• Film School Rejects knows that it’s true.We always want what we can’t have: forbidden love in the movies

• Mademoiselle Robot has polyvored two sets of amazingly stylish Halloween outfits. My favorite is the Freddy K outfit. Too bad AMS does not allow costumes in school. Maybe I can slip in with a sneaky alice costume.

Costumes by the zodiac: can’t choose your costume? let your costumes cosmically choose you.

• Life Clever is making good use of Jedi Mind Tricks. This would be good to use on stubborn students, professors with pink slips and possibly boyfriends ;)

• I love when the university comes through and produces awesomeness. Within my weekly newsletter from Marti & Stewie was an invite to OU’s Halloween Gala. A rare event full of spooky instrumental and choral music to begin the Halloween weekend. (and it’s free for students!)

• This is such a fun idea: Halloween in My Closet: Part 5 (check out 1-4 as well!)

Lady directors and cupcakes: realizations about silver screen sexual inequalites at the Chicago Intl Fil Fest

• This is wicked: Hocus Pocus - Where Are They now?

give yourself over to absolute delishasness

On this lovely (but totes freeezing cold) Tuesday morning, I am wishing for a bottomless money pit that is streamlined into my paypal account. This would allow me to buy all of the wonderful things that can be found on Etsy and then fill every empty space in my apartment with pretty treasures.

click on each photo to go to the seller’s Etsy shop.

Tonight Aaron, the JWO girls and I are going up to the Union to see The Rocky Horror Picture Show live!!! This show has been a Halloween tradition in my life for years. Senior year in high school I left the homecoming dance and went to Goucher College to watch their live show with Jen Curtis. I was already dressed up because the dance theme was Halloween, so it was perfect! This will be my 3rd time seeing the live show here in Athens and 5th time overall.

If there is a live show near you I 100% recommend that you go and see it! If there is not, rent the movie, throw on some sequins and watch it with your friends. Don’t be afraid to get up and dance!

putt-putt

on sunday I had to be out of the apartment for a few hours for roommate reason so aaron and I decided to go on an adventure.

I had found a listing for a garage sale on craigslist earlier in the week so the plan was to find the sale, walk around for a bit then go back to aaron’s place. we followed the map quest directions to the house, but as usual, we got lost and couldn’t find the road to turn onto. we decided to stop at speedway for pumpkin spice coffee and directions. the cashier at speedway was amazingly nice and pointed me in the general direction of the road that we were looking for. eventually we did find the house but when we got there all that was left was a crib and some baby toys. lame! so we turned around and looked for our next adventure.

on the way home aaron remembered seeing a sign for a putt-putt course by the ridges. we decided to investigate. when we got there the guy that was running the course told us that it was the very last day of the season! aaron and I were the only people there playing so we were able to take our sweet time.

also, I bought amazing new purple keds that will be photographed in the near future.

flashing lights

This morning I went out to the field behind McCraken to watch the Hillel Maccabia games. It was cold but I was glad to spend time with some of the girls who were on the JWO team and who came out to cheer. Most team spirit. Hands down.

After the games I went uptown and perused the goods at the underground. I didn’t buy anything, but I had fun looking. On the way home I took some shots of the town and soaked in the autumn goodness.

Cable was good to me this afternoon. I watched Hocus Pocus then Idle Hands then Corpse Bride and Shaun of the Dead simultaneously. Beautiful.

Around 6 Allison and I were feeling bummy so we decided to go for a drive. We picked up some treats (pumpkinspicelatte!) from Speedway then took off. We hunted alpaca, tried to scare ourselves, stargazed through the moon roof and rocked out.

truly delishas tuesdayish

it’s been long enough

Marti & Stewie - Every Thursday night the craft obsessed students here at OU gather promptly at 9pm in the food court of Baker center to craft! It’s so fun! Every week has a different theme or craft and it’s all for free! I have been to a few this quarter with girls from JWO and I always come home with lovely new crafts to spruce up my apartment.

So far I have crafted a mezuzah, a sign for the bathroom door that says ‘create’,  an Obama door hanger, (for my roomate who is voting for McCain) a picture fram for my sister, a picture from for moi, a pumpkin magnet, and a domo frame for the boyfriend.

New hair color & masquerade masks. I went from chestnut brown to mocah-cappachino-latte…idk, it’s reddish brown and I love it.

This amazing purple plaid shirt from Delias. want it so bad. ugh.

Aaron and I watched Stay Alive this morning. It was bad enough to begin with, but edited for TV made it much worse. seriously. Class today at 1 and then up to the Donkey at 5 for a JWO board meeting. Maybe some food shopping later because we are living on pasta, pumpkin mousse and egg salad. yum.

loves!

Dear Threadless

I have been a fan of your t-shirts for a few years now, but recently your merchandising has been very upsetting to me. This is because while you continue to create amazing shirts for boys and girls alike, your prices for said wearables have shot up like gas prices in the summer. Will you kindly please go back to selling reasonably priced t-shirts so I can enjoy expanding my artistic wardrobe without having to clean out my bank account.

Your wishful consumer,

Peachie

cuddle

One day last year, we set out on our weekly shopping adventure to Big Lots and we found the cuddle chair. It is super soft, it reclines, it is the perfect size for two and when I sit in the chair, my feet don’t touch the floor. I am in love with this chair. When I graduate in June, I am going to use all of the money that I have left to buy this chair and then I will drag it along with me wherever I go.

And this is how we cuddle.
