roses and thorns they say

“There is nothing so nice as supposing. It’s almost like being a fairy. If you suppose anything hard enough it seems as if it were real.”

-Sara, from ‘A Little Princess’ written by Frances Hodgson Burnett

I suppose that sometimes, in the dead of a dreary winter, it is alright to be sad for no reason at all. You can remember that sadness is an important human emotion. You can remember that being lonely happens to everyone. You can go to bed before 8:00 with the hopes of waking up fresh the next morning to a sunny day. And when that sunny day arrives, I suppose you can thank the ones you love for helping you through.
