pretty little ring time

February 25 is officially the first night on the year 2009 that I was able to sleep with the window open and wake up to birds chirping in the morning. This can only mean that spring is inching closer everyday. Much needed.

Yesterday I went to school for a bit and helped the students create paintings to represent the Van Gogh quote, “There is no blue without yellow and without orange.” We discussed the meaning behind the quote, but the students did not come up with much. I think it is a statement about race saying that one solitary race cannot exist alone in the world.

After school I went to class then sat out on the green by Scripts and called me dad. We talked for awhile about my parents upcoming visit and how things are at home. Then I went to the student center to attend a registration session for the teacher recruitment consortium. Consortium is an extremely uncommon word these days. I didn’t even know how to properly spell it.

Anyway, after that I ran down to Hillel to see a presentation and lecture on Jewish photojournalists during WWII and the Holocaust.

Today I am teaching a poetry lesson then I have a quiz on the Soviet Union. The rest of my day will be consumed by the teacher work sample that is due Tuesday morning. bleh.
